NCWD Direct was founded in 2014 with a simple idea: people around Lake Norman deserved a DIRECTV dealer they could actually reach — a real office, real local installers, and a phone number where a neighbor picks up instead of a call center.
Twelve years later, that’s still the whole business. We’re a small, family-run team based in Mooresville, North Carolina, serving Lake Norman, Charlotte and rural Iredell County. We sell and install DIRECTV Satellite and DIRECTV via Internet, set up Gemini devices, and help you bundle internet through AT&T Fiber or Kinetic by Windstream — and we’re still here after installation day when you have a question.
Our story
- 2014 — We open in MooresvilleNCWD Direct starts as a DIRECTV Authorized Dealer with one goal: give Lake Norman families a local person to call instead of a 1-800 number.
- 2014–2015 — Growing with Lake NormanWord of mouth takes us from Mooresville into Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Denver, Troutman and Statesville — and out to the rural Iredell County addresses other companies won’t drive to.
- 2015 — Charlotte and beyondJust one year in, we start serving Charlotte, then add Concord, Kannapolis, Salisbury and the surrounding towns, with our own installers covering a 45-mile radius from the office.
- 2021 — Satellite and streamingWe add DIRECTV via Internet alongside satellite and sell both honestly — satellite where broadband doesn’t reach, streaming where it does — and set up Gemini devices in person.
