Does DIRECTV satellite work without internet?
Yes. Satellite TV receives its signal from the dish, not from your internet. You get live TV, local channels and recording with no broadband at all. Internet is only needed for optional on-demand features.
Will rain or storms knock out my satellite?
Heavy storms can interrupt the signal for a few minutes while the worst of it passes — usually less time than it takes cable to come back after an outage. A properly aimed, well-sealed install (which is what we do) keeps that to a minimum.
Do I need a clear view of the sky?
The dish needs a clear line of sight to the southern sky. Trees or a neighboring building can be a problem, which is why we look at the roof, eaves or a pole mount before we start. If it truly won’t work, we’ll tell you and talk about DIRECTV via Internet instead.
Can I get Charlotte local channels and sports?
Yes. Satellite packages include your local Charlotte stations, and Choice and above include regional sports networks for Panthers, Hornets and college coverage. Satellite carries more channels than the streaming version — up to 340+.
What does the contract and activation involve?
DIRECTV satellite uses a 24-month agreement that locks your monthly rate for the full 24 months. There is a one-time $49.95 activation fee and a $10/month TV Access Fee; autopay and paperless billing are required. Prices are subject to change, and we walk through every line before you sign.
Do you install on rural, lake or mobile-home properties?
That’s most of our week. We serve a 45-mile radius of Mooresville including rural Iredell, Catawba and Lincoln counties, lake homes around Lake Norman, and manufactured homes. Free professional installation, usually the same week.
